Our local rodeo put out an open call for artwork to be featured on street banners. I decided to submit a watercolor painting depicting a nearby hiking area. It’s a scene painted from memory, from a pretty significant and spiritual day for me. I wanted to recreate it from my imagination, rather than from an image.

To emphasize the spiritual theme of the painting, I made the watercolor iridescent, almost like stained glass.
