This was one of the final projects I worked on in my breadth portfolio in AP Studio Art. It’s a style of printmaking called “intaglio”.
Instead of carving out your print on a rubber block, you etch the piece on a sheet of glass. It allows for very thin lines, and a pen & ink look to the print.
The pigment used for the traffic lights comes from red tissue paper that I glued to the paper before printing on it with my art teacher’s industrial-sized printing press.
